Obituary for Norma Lee Kelley Norma Lee Kelley, 92 of Grants Pass, Oregon passed away Monday, April 30th 2018 at her home surrounded by the love of her children. The daughter of Charles Benjiman and Ella Emma Jane (Miller) Truitt, she was born on September 9, 1925 in Pure Air Missouri. On March 31, 1947 she married Harry Frank Kelley who proceeded her in death on May 26, 1997.

She was also proceeded in death by five brothers, Walter, Lavern, Arnold, Bob and Max Truitt and five sisters, Dorothy, Beulah, Lucille, Geraldine, and Lillie. She is survived by one brother, Hubert Truitt of Kirksville, Missouri, two daughters, Sandy Rasmussen and husband Derrell of Aloha Oregon, Adalee Ralston of Newberg Oregon, three sons, Harry Kelley and wife Kathie of Gold Hill Oregon, Dennis Kelley and wife Dena of Grants Pass Oregon, Donald Kelley and wife Kathryn of Springfield Oregon. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Norma was raised in Novinger Missouri before moving to San Francisco California. Stopping in Topeka Kansas to marry Harry Kelley. After living in California for a few years they moved to Oregon.

First in Prineville then Merlin followed by Wolf Creek and finally settling down and making Glendale their home to raise their children. Norma was a very loving and wonderful wife and mother. Norma will be remembered for the way she made everyone feel like family.

There were many kids that called her mom and knew they always had a home to go to if needed. She loved gardening and canning fruit and vegetables for the winter months. She was well known for her homemade ice cream, cinnamon rolls and potato soup.

She helped organize and start the Glendale Rural Fire Department. She sold many hot dogs and sodas to raise money for the Fire Department and keep it running. She liked being involved in the community.

She loved getting together rain or shine for potlucks and music. She had many friends and enjoyed visiting and playing cards or games. Later in life she started going out dancing with friends two or three times a week.

She danced right up to the beginning of this year when her health started failing her. She loved dancing and was very upset to not be able to go anymore. A little-known fact is that Norma clogged in her younger days.

Right up to the time she could no longer dance, she could really move those feet. There will be a celebration of life for Norma on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 2: pm to 4 pm at the Holiday Park Gardens Clubhouse located at 1051 E Park Street, Grants Pass. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

This is an organization that is important to our family.
