Obituary of Norma Dickey Norma Jean (nee Lee) Dickey, of Marseilles, IL and formerly of Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren upon her passing. Norma was born in Terre Haute, IN, on September 12, 1943, and spent most of her youth in the area around Terre Haute before moving with her family to the Joliet, IL area.

She enjoyed cooking for family and preparing some of her special treats like hamburger rolls or chicken and homemade noodles. Norma was an avid country music fan, and was one of Alan Jackson’s biggest fans, but always loved hearing her son, Donnie, and brother, Nick, when they performed. She was formerly employed as a waitress at Baba’s Restaurant in Shorewood, where she was affectionately known as “Mama Jean”.

She always loved having her children and grandchildren around to spend special time with her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dickey; her mother, Naomia Lee; her father, Nicholas Lee and brother, Nicholas Lee, Jr. Norma is survived by her loving children, Raymond W. Leadingham, Donald W. (Vickey) Leadingham and John A. (Sonia) Leadingham; her four grandchildren, Nicole (Ratha) Chum, Christopher Leadingham, Emma and Travis Leadingham; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jonathan, Kendall, Paislee and Maximus; brother, Raymond (Joyce) Lee of Plainfield; and sister, Sandra (Jerry) Popplewell of Morris. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

The family would like to extend a special thank you and condolences to her caregiver, Karen Anderson, her lifelong friend, Margaret (Jackie) Myers, and her beautician, Michelle Edwards. Visitation for Norma Jean Dickey will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive, Morris, IL. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet, IL.
