OBITUARY Norman Darold Hoffman June 16, 1941 – February 5, 2019 Norman Darold Hoffman, 77, of South Charleston, known also as “Heavy Duty” to many of his family and friends, went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2019, surrounded by family, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Freda Hoffman; brothers, Ken and Roger Hoffman; and sisters, Joyce Sanders and Linda Smith. He is survived by a son, Darrell Hoffman of New Orleans, LA; daughters, Donna Hoffman-Shook and Dee Riley (Mark) of South Charleston; granddaughters, Danolita Shook-Curnutte (Brandon), Shea Hoffman and Brook Keeling (Paul) all of South Charleston and Sarah Hoffman of Orlando, Florida; grandson, Ozzy Souder, of South Charleston; sisters, Carol Dudley (Dave) of Hurricane, Connie Hawkins (Charlie) of Clarksburg; brother, Steve Hoffman (Ella) of South Charleston; great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Dexter, Kylie and Jackson Curnutte, all of South Charleston; and several nieces and nephews.

Norman graduated from South Charleston High School and retired from Krogers with over 25 years of service as a truck driver. Prior to working for Krogers, Norman drove tractor-trailer for several independent companies, and drove a bus for Charleston Transit. He was a Master Mason at Dunbar Lodge No.

159 AF&AM. Norman enjoyed many years of golfing, fishing and hunting before he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2011. He enjoyed going to the movies and spending time with his family.

Service will be 3:00pm Friday, February 8, 2019 with Masonic Rites at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Chapel of Peace, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, WV 25313 with Pastor Brad Joseph officiating. Private Entombment will follow. A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00pm-3:00pm Friday in the Mausoleum Chapel.
