Obituary of Nunziata Gencarelli Nunziata “Nancy” Gencarelli (nee Capalbo), 81, of Little Falls, passed away on January 16, 2019. She was born in Luzzi, Italy on March 4, 1937 to Genuzzo and Rosa (Gencarelli) Capalbo. After immigrating to America, Nancy worked as a seamstress for the ILGWU in Paterson for many years.
She was a devoted parishioner at Our Lady of Pompei Church in Paterson where she also enjoyed cooking in the rectory. Nancy was the beloved wife of Frank Gencarelli; the adored mother of Julie Vigorito and her husband Vincent and Rosanne Suppa and her husband Anthony; and the cherished grandmother of Vincent and Anthony Vigorito and Daniella, Alyssa, Gabriella and Christina Suppa. She was the dear sister of Giuseppe Capalbo and his late wife Assunta, Assunta Gencarelli and her husband Frank and the late Carmela Perri and her late husband Santo.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave. , Woodland Park.
A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday at 10am at Our Lady of Pompei Church, 70 Murray Ave. , Paterson, NJ. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 9am.
Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
