Opal “Moose” Jeanette (Helms) Dally, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at her daughter’s home with Karen holding her hand. She was born April 12, 1925 in Seymour, Wisconsin to Alfred H. and Maude (Stella) (Morey) Helms. She married Harry K. Dally at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Bay on October 4, 1947.

Opal was a big fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. She loved to read, sew, put puzzles together, solve crossword puzzles and do needlework. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Harry.

She will be missed by her cat and companion, Rusty. She is survived by her daughters, Kay (Tom) Rowntree and Karen (Joe) Jordan; her daughter-in-law, Kris Dally; grandchildren, Karl (Emily) Dally, Kate (Casey) Tree, Scott (Jennifer) Rowntree, Bryan Rowntree, Lynn (Chris) Hansen and Gregg Jordan; great-grandchildren, Evan and Austin Tree, Sophie and Reed Hansen, Tate Dally and Hunter Jordan. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry, her devoted son, Kurt, her sister, Malveena Shirey, brother, David Helms, parents and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation for Opal will be held Monday, December 17, 2018, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue. Visitation will continue Tuesday, December 18 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1301 South Ridge Road, after 10:00 am with the funeral service at 11:00 am with Rev. Jeff Fricke officiating.

Burial will take place in the veterans section of Fort Howard Memorial Garden. Expressions of sympathy, memories and photos may be shared with Opal’s family on www. lyndahl.com.

The family would like to thank the staff of Unity Hospice, Dr. Sze and Angela and the first floor nurses at Aurora BayCare for the special care given to Opal. In lieu of flowers, memories may be given to Unity Hospice or Calvary Lutheran Church.
