Oscar’s Obituary Oscar Bernard Lampley Jr., 66, of Bessemer City, went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2019, at Carolina Caring Hospice House in Newton, NC. He was born July 22, 1952 in Richmond County, NC. Oscar was a US Air Force Veteran.

A celebration of Oscar’s life will be held 4:00 pm Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Christ Worship Center, 3951 W. Franklin Blvd. , Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Jimmy Maney and the Rev.

Tim Barrett. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Oscar is survived by his mother, Betty N. Henry of Hamlet, NC; his loving wife of 38 years, Jennifer Strider Lampley of the home; his son, Robert “Pony” Johnson and wife, Amber of Bessemer City; his daughter, Amber Johnson Phillips and husband, Tommy of Holden Beach, NC; his sisters, Cynthia Lampley Coble and husband Jim of Rockingham, Kathy Lampley Lawson and husband, Randy of Sharon, SC; grandchildren, Clayton, Ashley, Destiney, Steven, Chase, Cody, Tearanni, Jalyne, Skyla, Allston, Karley, Chamberlain; great-grandchildren, TJ, Kenston, Maddox, Chapin.

Oscar was preceded in death by his father, O. B. Lampley Sr.; great-granddaughter, Shayleigh. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Christ Worship Center 3951 W. Franklin Blvd. Gastonia, NC 28052 or Carolina Caring Hospice 3975 Robinson Rd.
