Osvaldo M. “Baldo” Castillo October 17, 1931 – May 04, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Osvaldo M. “Baldo” Castillo, 87, of Kevil RD, Carlsbad, NM, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at his home, with his family by his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 at San Jose Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Catarina Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. on Thursday at West Funeral Home followed by a Prayer Vigil at 7p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church. Osvaldo Martinez Castillo was born on October 17, 1931 in Malaga, New Mexico to Eulalio and Rita (Martinez) Castillo. He grew up in Carlsbad and attended Carlsbad schools.

Osvaldo met Baudelia Carrasco while attending Alta Vista School and the couple was later married on March 24, 1954 in Carlsbad. He worked as a groundskeeper at Riverside Country Club and later for the City of Carlsbad Municipal Golf Course for 10 years before retiring. Baldo loved fishing and hunting, as well as working on his yard.

He was preceded in death by his wife Baudelia Castillo and siblings: Abel, Ernesto, Salvador, Ester, Maria and Consuelo. Baldo is survived by his daughters: Rita Reyna of Odessa, TX, Sylvia (Javier) Godinez, Mona (Randy) West, Sandra (Freddy) Carnero and Marcelina Castillo all of Calrsbad, NM; sons: Albert (Lucy) Castillo and Abel (Lorraine) Castillo all of Carlsbad, NM and Marty (Norma) Castillo of Fort Loudon, PA; sisters: Elvida Carrasco, Senida “Sandy” Ornelas and Lydia Castillo, as well as 25 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Pallbearers are Isaac Armendarez, Richard West, Anthony Carnero, Albert Castillo, Jr., Abel Castillo, Jr., Andrew Castillo, Randel West and Orlando Castillo.

Honorary Pallbearers are Mark Castillo, Damion West, Chris Garcia, Ryan Garcia, Miklo Godinez and Jay Castillo.
