OBITUARY Othela Georgia Millican April 21, 1930 – December 23, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Othela Georgia Millican, age 88 of El Dorado, left her earthly home on December 23, 2018 at Hudson Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born April 21, 1930 in Waldo, Arkansas to T.J. and Marie Baker. Othela is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Millican of Smackover and a son, Gary Millican (Karen) of El Dorado; three grandchildren, Meredith Ellerbe (Jeffery), Ali Gates (Jesse) of El Dorado, and Hunter Millican (Crysten) of Diana, Texas; eight great grandchildren, Jackson and Jace Ellerbe; Harper, Georgia, and Beckett Gates; and Peyton, Sadie, and Judson Millican.

Othela was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Autie V. Millican, and her brother, Denman Baker. Othela was employed by West Department Store and Van-Atkins for 35 years. Many people may remember her as the sweet, little lady in the shoe department.

Though she spent many days working in the store, her greatest passion was her family in which she took great pride. Othela loved gardening, sewing, and rocking on the porch. There was always a place at her table for anyone who wanted to come eat.

Her selfless demeanor was evident, even when her health failed her. She always put others first and made sure they were taken care of before herself. As a faithful Christian, she was a charter member of Hillsboro Street Church of Christ and attended regularly until her health prevented her from doing so.

Visitation will be held December 26 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Young’s Funeral Directors with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 am, with Rev. Bill Odom, Rev. David Bush, and Kent Jobe officiating.
