Otto’s Obituary Otto Eugene Smith, age 50 of Lynch, KY, passed peacefully on Thursday, May 02, 2019, at the Tri Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Danville, IL on July 29, 1968, he worked as a coal miner and MET for over 10 years with Class Coal and was a member of the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church where he sang in the Men’s Chorus.

Otto served in active duty overseas in the US Navy and was a member of the Army National Guard. He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto Williams Sr. and Dora E. Cheek Smith. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Anita L. Hammons Smith, of Lynch; sons, Aubre M. Hammons of Cross Lanes, WV and Jonathan W. Smith of Oak Ridge, TN; brothers, Daniel L. Smith and Luther S. Smith; sisters, Tina R. Yates, Susan P. Dean, and Tammy L. Smith; three grandchildren, Jonathan W. Smith, Jr., Sierra K. Hatfield, and Aiden K. Hammons; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 06, 2019, at the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 409 First Street, Lynch, KY between 11 am and 12 pm. Funeral service will follow beginning at 12 pm with Reverend Ronnie Hampton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Smith’s memory to the American Cancer Society – Hope Lodge, 1500 College Way, Lexington, KY, 40502. You may leave online condolences for the family at www. tricityfuneralhome.com.
