Ozzie Huff February 20, 1941 – March 17, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Jonathan Oscar “Ozzie” Huff, age 78, of Thomaston, Georgia, died at his residence on March 17, 2019. Mr. Huff was born on February 20, 1941, in Gainesville, Georgia to John and Evelyn Huff. Mr. Huff graduated from Marietta High School in 1958.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Textiles from Georgia Tech before serving in the United States Army where he reached the rank of captain. After separating from the army, Mr. Huff returned to Georgia Tech and earned a Master of Science in Textiles. Mr. Huff was a plant manager with Coats and Clark in North Carolina before moving to Thomaston, Georgia, and joining Thomaston Mills in 1974.

After many years of service with Thomaston Mills, Mr. Huff retired as Vice-President of the Apparel Finishing Division. He taught courses for Gordon College and Flint River Technical College and served on the boards for both the Thomaston City School System and Flint River Technical College. He was a member of Pyramid Equities Investment Club of Georgia and the Wild Bunch hunting group.

Mr. Huff was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. Mr. Huff was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Huff, and his son, Jonathan Hollis Huff. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Jackie Huff; a sister, Camille Stolp of Cornelia, Georgia; daughters Kelly (Steve) Mikell of Trussville, Alabama, and Heidi (John) Allen of Calhoun, Georgia; grandchildren, Reed Allen of Dayton, Ohio; Kathryn Kelly (Grant) Quist of Boca Raton, Florida; Davis Allen of Calhoun, Georgia; Heidi Mikell of Trussville, Alabama; and Hayley Mikell of Trussville, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Thomaston, Georgia. Memorial services for Mr. Huff will be announced later.
