OBITUARY (Palma) Theresa Lyons January 2, 1934 – January 23, 2019 Palma Theresa (née Chiodo) lovingly known as Terry Lyons, 85, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by Joseph J. Lyons, her beloved husband of 52 years. Terry is survived by her children: Joseph A.; Stephen and his wife, Sonia; Christine Tuttle and her husband, David; and Theresa Roberts and her husband, Dennis.

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Anne Marie Lyons, James Dunnkosky, Kathleen Barnes, Stephen Lyons, Richard Zaleski, Kelly Lyons, Joseph Dunnkosky, Alexander Zaleski, Mark Zaleski, Joseph Lyons, Anthony Lyons, Melissa Lyons, David Zaleski, Dennis Roberts, Andrew Lyons, Christina Tuttle, and her 24 precious great-grandchildren. Terry earned her nursing degree at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ. Her career as a Registered Nurse spanned 50 years, and she will be remembered for her compassion, kindness, and skill.

While Terry enjoyed knitting and doing word puzzles, her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She made Christmas Eve the highlight of every year for her entire family, a tradition that will surely endure. Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing her was treated like family and loved her dearly.

She will be greatly missed by all. A visitation will be held Friday, January 25, 2019, from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2019 at 12:30pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 747 W. Bay Ave.

Barnegat, NJ, with a committal service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beachview Ave. ,Manahawkin. In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry’s name may be sent to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis , TN 38105 To leave online condolences for the family, please visit www.
