Pamela Raye Vanway passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, due to complications from Head and Neck Cancer. She was 69 years old. The daughter of an Air Force Major, Pamela led an adventurous life that saw her making stops everywhere from Japan and the Philippines to Texas, Georgia, New Mexico and Pennsylvania and Tennessee.

In recent years, she relocated from Texas and made a home in Cumming, Georgia, enjoying the chance to be near her daughter, Christie, and her beloved grandsons. A proud Texan, Pamela graduated from South Houston High School before attending Stephen F. Austin State University and later transferring to, and graduating from, Sam Houston State University. She was delighted to reconnect with many of her SHHS Classmates during their recent 40 Year High School Reunion and cherished the friendships that were renewed during subsequent visits.

Pamela was a very fun and loving individual, who rarely met a stranger. She was proud of the life that she’d built in Cumming and was devastated to leave her friends – and her much-loved Customer Service role – at T.J. Maxx upon receiving her Cancer diagnosis in the fall. Pamela is survived by her daughters, Amanda Vanway Dingus and Christie Dingus Campbell; her Son-in-Law, Zak Campbell; and her grandsons, Charles Henry Campbell and Harrison Michael Campbell; as well as her siblings, Glenna Kaye Vanway and Kenneth Harlan Vanway, Jr. and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Harlan and Jackie Faye Vanway, of Missouri City, Texas. Zak and Christie Campbell will host an informal drop-in Celebration of Life at their home at 210 Hickory Oak Hollow in Cumming on Saturday, February 16, 2019, beginning at 4 pm. At Pamela’s request, the celebration will include “plenty of stories, plenty of music and plenty of food”.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
