Obituary for Patricia A. Hollinger (Moody) POTSDAM – Patricia A. Hollinger, 84, a longtime resident of Debra Drive Apartments, passed away Tuesday evening, January 8, 2019 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital after a brief illness. Pat was born August 29, 1934 in Potsdam, the daughter of the late Blanche J. Moody Gilbo. She was predeceased by her first husband, James Besaw Sr. in 1964.

On May 1, 1965, she married Leon Roy Hollinger at the Norwood Methodist Church. He predeceased her on March 23, 1987. Pat was a dedicated mother and homemaker raising her children.

She also babysat many children and cleaned at several local motels. She was a former member of the Grange and the Debra Drive Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed playing shuffleboard and bingo, doing word search puzzles, reading the newspaper, and visiting on the telephone.

Pat is survived by her children, James and Darlene Besaw of Unionville; Timothy Besaw of Norfolk; Cathy Besaw of Norfolk; Lloyd and Cathy Besaw of Norwood; Robert Besaw of Russell; Patricia and John Judware of Potsdam; and Leon Hollinger and his fiancé, Victoria of Massena and several grandchildren and and many great grandchildren. In addition to her mother and husbands, she was predeceased by an infant daughter, Gloria Besaw; a son, Michael Besaw on November 10, 2015; her grandchildren, Gregory A. LaValley, Jr., Patricia Grace Pitts, and Eric Ryan Misiaszek; and her siblings, Rolland Gilbo, Evelyn Planty, and Norma Daniels. Friends may call Friday 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 PM at the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where services will be held at 8:00 PM with Pastor Lee Sweeney, officiating.
