Obituary for Patricia Ann Marie Mertle Patricia Ann Marie Mertle Age 83 of Florissant, MO. Patricia Ann Mertle was born on August 22, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late John Tumbas and Pearl Schneider (Tumbas). She was the second oldest of eight siblings.

She was educated at Bayless High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Patricia served her country by joining the Marine Corps Reserves during the Korean War era. Shortly thereafter, she married James Joseph Mertle of more than 51 years.

They moved to Florissant, Missouri in 1958 and raised their children, Tom, Corinne and Jenny. She worked as a keypunch operator for AT&T and left to pursue opportunities at Ralston Purina shortly thereafter. She retired from the professional lifestyle to raise her three children at home.

Pat passionately and lovingly hosted and coordinated her monthly prayer group for many years. Pat and Jim enjoyed traveling to many religious events around the nation and even as far traveling to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and gardening.

She loved to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events: Kyle, Ryan, Scott and Michael. One of the highlights in her life was attending the annual family reunion with all of her relatives. Pat loved to go to the Ozarks and relax at her condo.

She liked to watch the boats go by from her deck. She liked fishing, boating, reading and going to the Camdenton Library to get her books. She also loved to go to town to see the sights and sounds of what the Lake had to offer.

Pat was a loving and devoted wife and also a wonderful mother. She was the BEST! She always showed kindness and concern for her family and helped each of us with our needs.

She was a special, gentle and loving woman and was loved by all who knew her. She was a blessing to all of her family and friends. She has shaped our family’s lives by her strength, character, generosity, friendliness, hospitality, and love for God.

She has influenced us and shaped our hearts and lives to make us who we are today. Pat had a wonderful life. She leaves to cherish her memory: Her devoted late husband 51+ years.

Her children, Tom Mertle (Donna Burkart), Corinne Moyie, and Jenny Leslie; her grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, Scott, and Michael; and her great grandchild, Maximilian. Her sisters, Kim McKenna and Pam Burnett. Her brothers, Mike Tumbas and Dale Tumbas, the late Jack Tumbas, Jim Tumbas, and Gary Tumbas.

Her Sister-in-laws, Helen (Tom) Meyer, Rosemary (Harold) Criste, and the late Pat (Archie) Morlock; cousins, nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends. Pat was a wonderful, loving, caring, and generous woman. She truly loved all of her family and friends.
