Patricia C Garris Norris, born April 21st, 1940, went home to be with her Lord, on Tuesday, May 7th, 2019. Pat was raised in Fairfield, Alabama, and then spent most of her lifetime in the Seattle area. She leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Robert Norris, her daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Mark Westbrook, three grandchildren, Clinton Young, Jason Westbrook (Bethany), and Danielle Westbrook Lashbaugh (Nick), Five great-grandsons, Tristen, Braden, Garris, Brenden, Reed, and two great-granddaughters, Katelynn and Claire.

She is also survived by two brothers, Wayne Garris, Mike Garris, and her sister, Deborah Brasher. She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Anita Young, and Geraldene Norris, her father, William T Garris, her mother, Mildred Garris, and brother Tommy Garris. Pat and Bob were high school sweethearts.

After marrying in 1957, Bob’s Navy service took them to Rhode Island where their first daughter, Anita was born. It was here that they met their lifelong dearest friends, Sandra and Don Miller. After Bob’s military discharge, they came to Seattle where their two other daughters were born.

In the early 1960’s, the family settled in Federal Way. Pat loved being a wife, mother and home maker. After raising her girls, Pat earned her degree at Highline Community College, and retired from Bank of America after 27 years of service.

She loved to travel and after her retirement she had the opportunity to visit many incredible places around the world. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed taking them to Disneyland and camping.

Pat had many interests. She enjoyed cruising the Caribbean, visiting the beaches of Puerto Vallarta, and touring the wonderful sights of Europe. She loved spending time with her Rainier Classic Chevy Club friends.

She adored tea parties and had such fond memories of the Sister-in-Law’s tea club. Pat was a member of the Puget Sound Church of God Holiness Church (later became Victory Fellowship) for almost 34 years, where she served as treasurer for most of that time. She held Bible studies in her home and mentored many of the young women in her church.

She showed the love of Christ in how she lived her daily life. If she knew you, she has prayed for you. After battling Multiple Myeloma Cancer for over 11 years, Christ took her home.

Pat thanked God continually for the care she received from the wonderful doctors and nurses at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. They are truly doing amazing work every day in the lives of their patients. They are dedicated to research and finding a cure in this battle against cancer.

So many times, we would say, “We are at the best place we know of to fight this, and the rest is up to God”. Services: A Celebration of Life will be held May 18, 2019 at noon at Victory Fellowship Church, 610 8th St NE, Auburn, Washington. There was a private burial on May 13 at Haven of Rest, Gig Harbor, Washington.
