Patricia L. Adkins, 74, of New Boston, died peacefully Saturday, May 19. 2018, at the SOMC Hospice Center with her family by her bedside. Born on December 26, 1943 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Morris and Lillian Ferguson Magee and was a homemaker.

Pat graduated from Glenwood High School and attended Sand Hill Christian Baptist Church. Also preceding her in death were her husband, James L. Adkins, and a daughter, Madeanna Stout. Surviving are a son, James D. (Becky) Adkins of Apple Grove, WV; a daughter, Melissa Prise of New Boston; a son-in-law, Randy Stout of North Moreland; two brothers, Jerry Magee of New Boston and Luther “Butch” (June) Magee of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister, Janet Elkins of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Tricia Stout, Stacey (Brad) Davis, Kevin Prise, J.W. Adkins and Blake Adkins; a great-granddaughter, Jayden Davis, and a great-grandson arriving Friday, Tavyn Davis.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23rd, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE . Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Memorial gifts may be made to SOMC Hospice.
