Patricia “Patty” Hiner, 65, died February 19, 2019 in Moore, Oklahoma. She was born September 12, 1953 in Boise City, Oklahoma to the late Roy and Clydella Jiles. Shortly after her birth she moved with her family to Germany, where her father was stationed in the Army.

A few years later, the family moved back to Boise City where Patty completed her schooling and graduated from Boise City High School in 1971. She married Ronnie Hiner on August 20th of that year. She and Ronnie had two children, Michael and Meagan, and lived in La Junta, Colorado and Albuquerque, New Mexico, for several years while Ronnie worked for the Santa Fe Railroad.

Upon Ronnie’s retirement from the railroad, they moved back to Boise City, where Patty went to work at Cimarron Memorial Hospital. She left that job to work in the Cimarron County Assessor’s office as deputy assessor and then ultimately elected as County Assessor with time. She retired in December 2014 from the County Assessor’s office after 16 years of service.

In 2016, she moved to Moore, Oklahoma, to live with Meagan, son-in-law Ben, and granddaughter Arlie. Even though she was battling cancer for much of that time, she said these years have been some of the best of her life. Patty always considered her faith as a huge influence in her life, and it has always carried her through her tough times, as well as the good times.

She had a strong relationship with the Lord, which she exemplified until her death. One of the things people noticed the most about her was her beautiful, contagious smile, and her willingness to help in any situation. She put herself second and others first in her life.

She will be missed dearly by her friends and family. She is survived by her son, Michael Hiner and girlfriend Becky May of Boise City; daughter Meagan Panter, husband, Ben, and their daughter Arlie, of Moore; her sister, Sharon Freeman and husband, George, of Broken Bow; niece, Serena Anderson and husband Wes and their children, Elise and Aiden, of Oklahoma City; and nephew Carr Freeman, of Broken Bow. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Roy and Clydella Jiles, her husband Ronnie Hiner, and her sister Linda Jiles.

Visitation will be Friday, February 22nd at Henson-Novak Funeral Directors Chapel, Boise City from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM with the family greeting friends from 5:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 23 at 2:00pm at Boise City Christian Church. Burial will follow in Boise City Cemetery.
