OBITUARY Patricia “Patty” May Woodard May 21, 1937 – November 22, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Patricia “Patty Cake” May Woodard, age 81, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away on Thursday November 22, 2018. Patricia was born May 21, 1937 in Zanesville, Ohio to Helen Keller Ables and Roy Artist Ables. Patty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She loved to travel with her late husband Don. She enjoyed dancing, eating Mexican food, going to concerts, listening to Elvis music, arts and crafts, and she was an avid reader. Patty taught her children to be strong and independent, caring about those less fortunate and serving the Lord.

She will always be remembered as a strong willed Christian woman determined live life to the fullest. Patty was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Don Junior Woodard; father Roy Artist Ables and mother Helen Keller Ables; son-in-law Mike Cox; daughter-in-law, Derenda Woodard; and sister-in-law Wanda Woodard. She is survived by; daughter Sonia D Cox; and son Donny Ray Woodard; brother Richard Brooks (Molly); grandchildren Donovan Woodard (Lindsey), Michael Cox(Kaylee), Tyler Cox (Ashley) and DeAnna Hope (Tim); sister-in-laws, Betty Woodard Shephard (Eugene), and Kathy Woodard Smith; brother-in-laws, Billy, Marshall, and Mack (Melinda) and Sol Woodard; great grandchildren, August, Avery, Brelen, Bowen, Cole, Hallie, Hadleigh, Jacob, Kadence, Kinsley, Levi, Makenna, Madison, Talaya; nieces, nephew, other family members and many friends.

A visitation for Patricia will be held Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 1:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Lakewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby. A burial will occur Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery near Ozark, AL.
