Patrick A. Menna, most recently of Armonk died July 21, 2018 at the age of 94. He had lived in White Plains for many years. He and his wife Barbara retired to Hendersonville, NC for about 20 years.

They later moved to Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and Pat moved back to New York after the death of his wife. Born in North Tarrytown on February 10, 1924, he was the son of Fileno and Letizia Carunchia Menna. After high school, Patrick served proudly in the United States Navy.

He was part of the Normandy Invasion, landing on Omaha Beach in the USS LST 501. After his service, he continued his education first at Western Illinois University and then completing his BS at NYU Teachers College. While at Western Illinois, he was a member of the football team and he continued following his love of football by playing semi-pro football in Port Chester, NY.

Patrick was a school teacher having first taught at Washington Irving High School in Tarrytown and then moving to Scarsdale High School where in addition to teaching he served in many capacities coaching Football, Baseball, Golf, Wrestling as well as running the Ski Club at Scarsdale High. In the summers he worked at Camp Kennebeck in Maine for a time and also had been the Director of Pools for the Fort Lee, NJ Recreation Department. Additionally, Pat was involved with Basketball.

He was a member of the Westchester County Basketball Association and had served as its President. He was also a member of the IAABO. On June 21, 1952, he married Barbara Bouchard in St. Alban’s, VT.

He and Barbara had been married for 59 years when she passed away in 2011. Pat is survived by his son Michael (Vivian) Menna and his daughter Mary Beth (James) Specht. Also surviving are his grandchildren David Menna, Allison Menna, Jennifer (Scott) Titkemeier, Michael (Colleen) Mayer and Nathan Specht as well as his great granddaughters Sara Beth and Emily Titkenmeier.

In addition to his wife Barbara, he was predeceased by his sister Carmela Menna. Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Sleepy Hollow at 10:00 with interment with Military Honors to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
