Mr. Paul Wendell Collett, age 71, of Artemus, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Lee Collett, Jr. and Inza Mae (Gambrel) Collett, born to them on October 26, 1947 in Balkan, Kentucky. He was a proud United States Army Veteran and received the Purple Heart for wounds received while serving in Vietnam.

He was a member of the Baptist faith and loved to hunt and fish. Paul was preceded in death by his parents Lee, Jr. and Inza Mae Collett. Left behind to mourn his passing are brothers Vernon Collett of Medamora, Michigan, Edward Collett and wife Crystal of Lake Orion, Michigan, Floyd Collett and wife Bonnie of Artemus, Kentucky and David Lee Collett of Apex, Michigan, sisters Barbara Sue Collett of Rose Hill, Virginia and Pamela Gail Ervin of Rose Hill, Virginia.

He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral Services for Mr. Paul Wendell Collett will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home, with Reverend Paul Ken Smith and Reverend Gene Hubbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Friends will be received at Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday, November 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. To the Collett family, the staff of Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home would like to express our heartfelt sympathy during your time of bereavement.
