ASHBURNHAM- Pauline A. (Saari) Brogan of Ashburnham passed away on March 5, 2019 at Heywood Hospital and Gardner after a short stay surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born July 8, 1930 and Gardner the daughter of William and Alma ( Pease) Saari and has been a lifelong resident of Gardner. She was a graduate of Gardner High School and a graduate of the Henry Heywood Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1952.

She spent many years in private duty nursing and then 24 years at the Gardner Manor Nursing Home as a Staff Nurse. She was later recognized by the Gardner News as “making a difference” in her work as a nurse’s aide educator. She was married to the late Thomas L Brogan.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and lived in the family home on Lake Wampanoag. In later years she volunteered at the Heywood Hospital Rehabilitation Center and the Gardner Historical Society. She enjoyed traveling taking trips to Ireland and the Pacific Islands.

She also enjoyed water aerobics and was an avid lifetime reader. She was a loving mother of, Thomas L Brogan Jr. and his wife Janet of Waltham, Michael J. Brogan and his wife Lynne of Mesquite, Nevada, Patrick W. Brogan and his wife Sherri of Gardner, Kelly A. Brogan and her husband William Wernik of Alstead, New Hampshire, Kevin R. Brogan of Gardner; grandmother to James M. Brogan and his wife Kristi of Miliani, Hawaii, Jennifer L. Brogan of Gardner, Jacqueline C. Brogan of Watertown, Stephen T. Brogan and his fiancée Lynne Messina of Arlington, Heather L. Kinosian and her husband Adam of Winchendon; great grandchildren, Alec M. Brogan, Adrianna Kinosian, Ayden Kinosian; one sister, Janet Ackerman of Baltimore, MD. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Saari and great granddaughter Kenzie M. Brogan.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Holy Spirit Church 50 Lovewell St., Gardner. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery Gardner will be at a later date. Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 9 to 10:30 AM at the Mack Family Funeral Home 105 Central St., Gardner.
