Obituary for Peggy Bishop Peggy Lanham Bishop, 85, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend, died peacefully at her home in Chattanooga TN on Tuesday September 11th, 2018. Mrs. Bishop was born 1933 in Tampa FL. She had a career with Western Union at one of their main offices in Atlanta GA.
She later worked in an accounting position with a local hospital near her home. After retirement, she enjoyed free time and followed her lifelong practice of dependability and dedication to her Church, family and friends. She was truly gifted at sewing by hand and a talented quilter.
Mrs. Bishop was a long-time member of North Shore Fellowship, in Chattanooga, TN and was very active in the church prayer group, helping minister to the needs of her many friends and loved ones. She was the daughter of the late Fred Lanham and Thelma Lanham and was preceded in death by her Husband William Curtis Bishop, son William Bishop Jr, son Paul Bishop, daughter Lillian Britton, daughter Deborah Childress, grandsons Keith Bishop, Brian Duffey and great granddaughter, Josie Grace Childress. Mrs. Bishop is survived by her three children; all of whom she was very proud: Ellen Clary, Frank Mickel and his wife Lenore, Sherri Bishop Weathers her husband Keith, plus many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter.
She is also survived by one brother and one sister: Fred Lanham Jr and Martha Smoot of North Carolina A graveside service will be celebrated at 12:30 pm on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Fairburn GA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Parrott Funeral Home, 8355 Senoia Rd – Hwy 74, Fairburn, GA. Arrangements will be made by Parrott Funeral Home, Phone 770-964-4800 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to local Hospice Groups or Compassion International.
