Peggy Gene Floyd, 82 year old resident of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, died on February 27, 2019 in Rose, Oklahoma. She was born on October 21, 1936 in Colcord, Oklahoma, to Martin Quince Porter and Ida Mae Linam Porter. Peggy went to school at Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

She taught Kindergarten through 12th grade in Colcord, Moseley, and Gravette School Systems from 1961-2000. Peggy was baptized into the Church of Christ by Minister Larry Ball. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Ruby Nicholas and Wanda Bodine.

She is survived by a daughter, Gina Hicks and husband Jimmy Lee Hicks, Jr., of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Jett Swatsenberg and husband Mark of West Siloam Springs, Spencer Huckaby and wife Jennifer of Leach, Oklahoma, and Ashley Schutt and husband Vern of Jay, Oklahoma; six great grandchildren: Cameron Swatsenberg, Paul New, Ronnie Huckaby, Lexi Huckaby, Cade Cash, and Peggy Schutt; two sisters, Pauline Ghormley of Garland, Texas, and Cathy Williams of Claremore, Oklahoma; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2019 at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Mr. Mike Ellis officiating.
