Decatur ~ Peggy Lou (Scott) Anderson, 89, went to be with our Lord Friday, March 1, 2019, in Decatur. Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Brother Willard Kiper will officiate. Pallbearers include Curtis Anderson, Vernon Ray Scott, Steven Scott, Michael Anderson, Taylor Anderson, and Zane Sheppard. Peggy was born on December 25, 1929, to Vernon and Margaret (LaFever) Scott in Goodlett, Texas.

She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Anderson on September 20, 1947, in Quanah, Texas. Peggy retired as a seamstress at the Lorch Westway sewing factory after 30 years. She worked as a nurse’s aide and caregiver for 10 years at Bridgeport Hospital.

Peggy was a member of New Salem Free Will Baptist Church since 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Winferd Ray Scott. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Billy Anderson of Longview, Danny Anderson and wife Kristi of Windthorst; her daughter, Penny Anderson of Decatur; her grandchildren, Misty, Randi, Linda Chantel, Michael, and Taylor; her great grandchildren, Ashlynn, MacKenley, Zane, Rhyder, Maggie, Luke, Tyler, Masen, and Carter; her brother, Vernon Scott Jr.; her sister, Mary Houseman; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
