Obituary for Peggy Sue Ives Peggy Sue George Ives, 86, died Thursday, December 6, 2018. She was born on November 8, 1932 in Jefferson, Texas to Thomas and Toy Pyland George. She graduated from Linden High School and later married George Loy Ives in 1957 in Hugo, Oklahoma.

Peggy was a member of Central Baptist Church for more than 35 years. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, playing in the handbell choir, and singing in the sanctuary choir. Peggy was a Christian and loved the Lord.

She never hesitated to share her faith with anyone who would listen (and some who wouldn’t). She worked many years for Thiokol Ammunition Plant and KMHT Radio Station as a bookkeeper and office administrator. For her final career, she and her husband owned and operated B–C Cleaners and Laundry in Marshall for many years.

After retiring from the cleaners, she stayed home to take care of her husband and spend much treasured time with her grandchildren. They all were the joy of her life. They all lovingly call her Nana.

She was a wonderful mother and an even better Nana. You always knew where you stood with Peggy. She never minced words and always said what was on her mind, whether you wanted to hear it or not.

She will be truly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Toy; her husband, George Loy; her son, Tommy; her son-in-law, Randy Tarpley; her sister, Mary; brother-in-law, George Fitts and her grandson, Chris Benson. She is survived by her daughter, Georgeann, and husband Kyle Benson; her son, George Ives and girlfriend, Rhonda Mayfield; her grandchildren, Matt Tarpley and wife Mandy, Ross Tarpley, Brady Ives, Breah Ives, Ava Ives, Amber Lawrence and husband Jonathan; her great-grandchildren, Myla & Logan Lawrence; her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Mary George; her sister-in-law Glenda Cargile; her sister-in-law, Vickie Ives as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that are like family.
