Obituary for Peter C. George Jr. Peter C. George, 87, of Marietta, GA, passed away on December 4th, 2018. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7th, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Transfiguration Catholic Church. Internment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

Mr. George was born on May 31st, 1931 in Clairton, PA where he was a fireman/EMT for 22 years as well as a former parishioner of St. Paulinus Catholic Church where he was a eucharistic minister. He served EVERYONE he met. He was a Boy Scout leader, little league baseball coach, and president of the Clairton High School Band Boosters.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna; son, Peter (Sue) of Lexington KY; daughter, Denise Crater (Jerry) of Marietta, GA ; 5 grandchildren, Shannon Riley (Patrick), Stephanie George of Raleigh NC, Peter Stephen George, Cameron Crater, Brittany Lins and one great-grandchild Patrick Aidan Riley; sister and brother-in-law Bonnie (Tortoice) Bill Lins, Karen Arnold, and Sam (Kim) Tortoice and many other family and friends who he loved dearly. The family of Mr. George will receive guests at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Historic Marietta Chapel on Thursday, December 6th, 2018 from 1-3 PM and 5-8PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society through Tranfiguration Catholic Church.
