Obituary for Peter Karalexis Pete Karalexis passed peacefully on Sunday, July 1, 2018 surrounded by the love of his family and many, many friends. Pete was born in Boston Massachusetts on January 12, 1967, and is survived by his loving sister Christine Anna Karalexis, brother Arthur Karalexis, father Steve Karalexis, son Adam Karalexis and best friend Antonio Nandho. He was a resident of Tierra Verde, Florida since 2005.

Pete was employed at Billy’s Stone Crab Restaurant in many capacities, he absolutely loved what he did, and he was a fixture on the island. Neither Billy’s nor the great people he worked with will ever be the same as all are the closest of friends. To say Pete had many friends would be a huge understatement.

Pete was appreciated by so many for his positive attitude, generosity, wit, compassion and was truly a master of the Golden Rule. Pete will always be remembered as a fun-loving guy with endless energy and a smile that could light up a room; as someone who always went out of his way to make everyone feel welcome and to let them know they mattered. The friends and loved ones that gathered to hold vigil for Pete during this trying time are a true testament to the impact he made on the lives of those around him.

Near and far, online or in person, all of us who knew Pete have joined together over the past few days to lend support, share beautiful memories, and send love and prayers as he transitioned. Please join family and friends for a Wake and Visitation for Pete (Dancing like Pete is mandatory! ) at the Chapel at Memorial Park, Thursday, July 5 from 5-9pm.

Location is 5750 49th St. N., St. Petersburg, FL. The funeral service will be Friday, July 6 at 1pm in the Chapel at Memorial Park, with interment to follow. Following the service on Friday there will be a Celebration of Life at Billy’s Stone Crab Restaurant, at 4pm located at 1 Collany Road, Tierra Verde, FL 33715 If anyone has a favorite framed picture of Pete, please try to bring it on Thursday.
