Philip Bayer of Wallkill, NY, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, in Newburgh. He was 70. The son of Jakob and Margaretha Kreter Bayer, he was born September 29, 1948 in Salzburg, Austria.

Philip retired from Con Edison after 41 years as a surveyor and Construction Representative. Phil enjoyed Civil War History and following the Civil War Trails. He enjoyed many road trips throughout the United States visiting National Parks.

Survivors include his Wife Kathryn Bayer at home Son Jason Bayer of New York City Son Jonathan Bayer & his wife Kelly of Newburgh Daughter Karen Bayer of New Paltz Brother Helmut Bill Bayer of Hopewell Junction Nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews Along with his parents, he was predeceased by Brother Heinrich Bayer Visitation will be Friday, January 4, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-9pm at Wallkill Funeral Home, 12 Bonaventura Ave. , Wallkill, NY 12589. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
