Phyllis Marie Schnabl, age 83, passed away peacefully Thursday morning February 7, 2019 at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. She was born June 22, 1935 in Milwaukee, the daughter of John and Lorraine Sommers. She married Donald J. Schnabl on January 9, 1954 in Milwaukee.

He preceded her in death on March 24, 2014 after 60 years of marriage. Phyllis was employed in food service for Milwaukee Public Schools for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in West Bend and a former member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Julie) Schnabl, Menomonee Falls, Dorene (Tim) Gielow, Horicon, Donna (Mark) Keihl, Milwaukee, and Kurt (Debra) Schnabl, Oostburg; 8 grandchildren, Jason (Michele) Oertel, Jacob (Nichole) Oertel, Jaime (Dave) Hammond, Crystal (Corey) Jacoby, Jessica Schnabl, Katie Schnabl, Aaron Keihl, April (Ryan) Bruss; 17 great grandchildren, Logan, Colton, Carter, Meghyn, Matthew, Michael, Wyatt, Ethan, Landon, Aubryn, Alex, Ashley, Harper, Ezra, Caden, Charlotte, and Cameron; her brother-in-law, Dennis (the late Lucille) Schnabl. She is further survived by other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Scott; one brother, Jack Sommers; and by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Shepherd of Hills Lutheran Church, 6869 Wildwood Road, West Bend, WI 53090 with Rev. Darren Knoll officiating.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
