OBITUARY Quilie Ann Green January 22, 1928 – November 23, 2018 Quilie Ann Green, age 90, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday November 22, 2018. Ms. Quilie was born January 22, 1928 in Phenix City, Alabama to Edna Kite Dolton and Eber Dolton. She learned at a very early age that she had to work hard to take care of herself.
She spent most of her life working in the textile mills in and around Columbus, while raising a family. After her husband passed, she went to work at McDonald’s where she was a hostess for 24 years. She loved her family and her church.
Ms. Quilie was a member and Sunday School teacher at Philadelphia Baptist Church where she taught two and three year olds for over 40 years. She set an example for her children on how to live a good life. Ms. Quilie was also known in the community as “The Flower Lady” because of the beautiful yard that she kept.
Mrs. Quilie Ann Green will always be remembered as living her life as a humble, faithful, and giving Christian woman, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Ms. Quilie was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Green; son Clifford Green, III and daughter-in-law Theresa Green; father Eber Dolton and mother Edna Kite Dolton; brothers Garfield and Carl Dolton; and sisters Margaret Dolton Randall and Lelia Dolton Connell. She is survived by; daughter Ardis Heath; and son-in-law Harold Heath; grandchildren, Scott (Courtney) Heath, Emily (Danny) Thomasson and Danielle (Lyn) Maddox; seven great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
A visitation for family and friends for Ms. Quilie will be held Monday, November 26, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby, 3770 Hwy 431 North, Phenix City, AL. A Celebration of Ms. Quilie’s Life will occur Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10:00 AM in Lakewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby. Officiated by Reverend Skip Speed.
