She was born April 15, 1945, in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late Deuward B. and Irene (Oxford) Hunter.

She was a registered nurse in healthcare and has been a long-time resident of Frostproof. She enjoyed woodworking, crafting and scrapbooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Arnold Smith; brother Deuward B. Hunter, Jr. and her parents.

Survivors include her daughters, Traci L. Chavis of Frostproof, FL and Kelli L. Scott and her husband Justin of Lake Wales, FL; son, Clifton E Smith and his wife Hilda of Lakeland, FL; sisters, Deuanna E. Schlink and Debbie T. Stauffer and 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at 12:00 noon followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Frostproof with Rev. Jon Essigmann officiating.
