OBITUARY Rachel St John November 22, 1939 – July 23, 2018 Rachel D. St. John, 78, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on July 23, 2018. She passed peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones. Rachel was born in Charlotte on November 22, 1939, the daughter of Walter and Mary Donaldson.

In her younger years, Rachel was an avid ball player and pianist. Of all the many things she enjoyed doing, she most enjoyed spending time with her family. She served as a homemaker and a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church.

In her later years, her hobbies included working crossword puzzles and having her “picture made”. Nothing thrilled her more than seeing how many likes and comments she would receive on social media. She is survived by her children, David (wife Laura), Gayle (husband Jeff), Becky (husband Matt), and Mary (husband Denny); Grandchildren, Jennifer (husband Jason), Katie (husband Drew), Taylor, Justin, Zachary, and Tyler; Great-Grandchildren, Courtney, Austin, Dahlia, and Ellery.

Rachel is also survived by her sister Sally, and brothers Johnny, Billy, and Joe, and many nieces and nephews. Rachel is proceeded in death by her husband, Lester St. John. Services will be held at McEwen Funeral Home (5716 Monroe Rd.

Charlotte, NC 28212), on Friday, July 27. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm and service to follow at 2:30pm. After the service, Rachel will be taken in procession to her final resting place at Sharon Memorial Park.
