Rachel Theresa Scott Kinney , January 26, 1937 — December 25, 2018

Rachel Theresa Kinney, born January 26, 1937, of Norwich Connecticut passed away surrounded by her family on December 25, 2018. She is survived by her children; Odina Wright of Virginia, Edmund Kinney Jr. of Florida, Arthur Kinney, Crystal Young and Tammie Gromko of Connecticut, 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers; Arthur (Seyboy), Russell, and Roger Scott, and her sister Joyce Banbury.

She is predeceased by her brothers Gary and Ronnie Scott. She passed away unexpectedly but the love she left with everyone will never fade. Rachel was an avid reader and a collector of angels.

She enjoyed sitting by the fire with her family as well as sitting outside for hours rocking in her chair, enjoying the warmth of the sun. Although not a swimmer, Rachel loved the beach, water, and the waves, she loved to get her feet wet. Her door was always open to offer a meal or coffee to anyone who stopped by.

Rachel was that person that everyone loved, with a smile that lit up the room. She was beautiful, kind, strong and selfless. A small woman in stature with a heart big enough to share love with all.

Rachel is loved deeply and will forever be missed. The earth was a better place with her on it, now the heavens are a better place as they embrace her. Services will be held Friday January 4, 2019 at Christ Episcopal Church located at 78 Washington St in Norwich at 10am.

Immediately following will be a graveside service at Saint Mary’s cemetery in Lisbon Connecticut. There will be a reception held at the Church following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Jude, an organization she held close to her heart.
