Rae Marie D’Arpino, peacefully passed away on January 22, 2019 in her home with family by her side, at the age of eighty-six. he suffered with Alzheimer’s Disease and was overtaken with lung cancer. Daughter of the late Julio and Josephine Bosco, Rae was born January 16, 1933 in Newark, New Jersey.

She was raised and attended school in Newark’s First Ward, an extremely poverty-stricken area. She married Nick D’Arpino on February 26, 1956, in New Jersey. Shortly thereafter, she and Nick moved to California, with little to nothing, in search of the California Dream.

They settled in Campbell, California, bought their first home, which they lived in for the duration, raised their family, and built their business, S&S Welding, Inc They would have celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary next month. Rae’s family and friends will always remember her as a hard worker and loving mother.

She had an immaculate fashion sense, loved casinos, doing her own hair and nails, shopping, dancing, music, tending to her home and garden, and traveling. Her family was the most important part of her life. Her grandchildren affectionately called her “Mama Rae,” and she spoiled them at every opportunity.

She could make anyone blush with her humorous wit and sharp Italian tongue. She was a truly strong and unforgettable woman. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Nick; son Vincent D’Arpino (Linda); daughter Donna Rubino (Joe); grandchildren Deanna Libert (Andrew), Michelle D’Arpino, Vanessa Rubino, Gina Zandona (Danny), Christina Rubino, and Joey Rubino; her brother Tony Bosco; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brothers Frank, Bruno, and Jerry Bosco. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Christopher Church, 2278 Booksin Avenue (At Curtner), San Jose. The family of Rae D’Arpino wishes to extend our sincere thanks to caregiver, Veronica Kisepi, and Sojourn Hospice for their kindness and gentle, loving presence in the final days of her life.
