Ramona Ruth Meyer February 11, 1934 – February 01, 2019 Share this obituary Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Ramona Ruth Meyer, 84 of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday, February 1, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus in Rochester, Minnesota. Ramona was born February 11, 1934 to Wilmer and Olga (Bartz) Nack of Grafton, Iowa. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1951.

In 1953, she graduated from Iowa State Teachers College (now UNI) Cedar Falls, Iowa with a two year elementary teaching degree. She taught 5th grade at Gowrie, Iowa and Lake Mills Iowa. On June 19, 1955, she married Alvin Meyer at Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Grafton, Iowa.

She lived her entire married life in Austin, Minnesota where her husband Alvin worked at The Trowbridge and Red Owl Grocery stores before retiring. Ramona enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She donated many quilt tops to her church.

In the summer, she spent her time in her flower and hosta gardens. She also enjoyed taking care of the flowers around Grace Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer and Olga Nack; step-mother, Alice Nack; brothers, William, Robert and Richard Nack.

Ramona is survived by her husband, Alvin Meyer; daughter, Melodie Williamson; son, Michael Meyer, all of Austin; grandsons, Joshua Meyer of Orlando, Florida and John Meyer of Lexington, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Laurie (Nack) Bublitz of Grafton, Iowa; nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 8th at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Patrick Ziems officiating. Interment will be at rural Beckwith Cemetery near Colwell, Iowa at a later date.

Visitation will be held Friday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Grace Lutheran Church. Memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church, Austin, Minnesota or to the donor’s choice. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
