Randy Ray Brooks, 41, of Newton died on Sunday, April 28, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends after the service with a lunch at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Randy’s family (checks made payable to Shaphen Brooks) may be left at the funeral home. Randy, the son of Randy “Spanky” and Peggy (Umble) Brooks, was born on April 17, 1978 in Knoxville. He grew up in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1996.

Following high school, Randy began working at Pella Corp where he was still currently employed. On June 26, 2004, Randy was united in marriage with Shaphen Cellucci in Oskaloosa. They lived in Knoxville until moving to Newton in 2011.

Randy enjoyed archery and was a member of USA Archery. He also loved anything outdoorsy; hunting, fishing, camping, and mushroom hunting. Randy was extremely talented and enjoyed making knives, paracord, drawing, wood carving, and leather work.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Shaphen Brooks of Newton; children, MaKenna, Jadin, and Blaine Brooks; his father, Randy “Spanky” (Deb) Brooks of Goddard, Kansas; siblings, Davina (Ray) Keegle of Knoxville, Jennifer (Nick) Bergmann of Des Moines, Brandy Brooks of Goddard, Kansas, and Tabatha Baker of Pella; his nieces and nephews, Nakara, Dayne, Becca, and Tonya; maternal grandmother, Delores Umble; all of Shaphen’s family; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Smith; his paternal grandparents; and a maternal grandfather.
