Randy Scott Gideon of Herrin, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Herrin Hospital, Herrin, Illinois, having attained the age of 49 years, 4 months and 28 days. Born in Savannah, Georgia on December 9, 1969, he was the son of Frederick James and Rosemary K. Gideon, nee Griffith. Randy was a veteran of the Air National Guard in Georgia, a mechanic by trade and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Savannah, Georgia.

He was a friend to many, generous to a fault, could repair anything on wheels and always had a joke of the day. His father survived his passing and has now passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 9, 2019. Surviving are his parents, Frederick James and Rosemary K. Gideon of Savannah, Georgia; his children, Allen Carter of Guyton, Georgia and Fayth Smith of Vienna, Illinois; his sister, Buffie Lee of Savannah, Georgia; his brother, Terry Gideon of Port Wentworth, Georgia and his granddaughter, Emily Carter.

All services will be private. The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is assisting the family.
