Raymond’s Obituary Memorial service for Ray Prince, age 85, of Milaca, will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:30 AM at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease with Rev. Michael Ten Haken officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Pease Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10 – 11:30 AM at the church on Saturday. Raymond Darrell Prince was born August 31, 1933 to Frank and Marie (Schutte) Prince in Sheldon, Iowa. As a young boy, he moved with his family to the state of Washington.

He then moved with his family to a farm in Milo Township. Ray attended country school through the 8thgrade and worked on the family farm. He married Alice Strating on October 23, 1953.

Ray served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. After completing his service in 1956, Ray and Alice returned to Milaca and started Prince Bait Shop along with Ray’s parents. While working side by side in the business, they also raised four children.

They retired in 1992 and spent a lot of time traveling to many different states and countries. Ray was a lifelong member of the Christian Reformed Church in Pease. Ray passed away Friday, January 25, 2019.

He is survived by his children, Debra (Jim) Adams of Monticello and Mark (Wendy) Prince of Milaca; grandchildren, Cassie (Craig) Wredberg, David (Emily) Adams, Miranda Prince, Marisa (Joel) Anderlie, Megan (Josh) Roske and Alison Prince; great-grandchildren, Camryn, Carson, Jaiden, Harleigh, Chase, Maverick and one great-grandchild on the way; step-grandchildren, Ryan McMullen and Ashlee Lovaas; son-in-law, Scott Smith; former daughter-in-law, Beverly Mitchell and his caring extended family for the last four years from Signe and Olivia’s Assisted Living in Ogilvie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice and children, Tom Prince and Jodie Smith.
