Obituary for Raymond Dean Andersen Raymond D. Andersen age 86, passed away peacefully at home on November 11, 2018 in Enoch, Utah after battling many health issues for the last 4 years. He was born on February 20, 1932 in Hyrum, Utah, to Peter Hans and Anna Irene (Coburn) Andersen. Raymond was raised in Hyrum, Utah with his 9 brothers and sisters in a 2 room house on the east end of town.

He lived there until the age of 17 when he then joined the U.S. Air Force. He spent the next 22 years with the Air Force until he retired in 1972. Raymond married Mary L. Johnson on April 23, 1954 in the Logan Temple.

Together they raised 5 children, Keven Dean (Janet), Brenda Lee (Jeff), Steven Ellis (Zadyith), Jeffery Ray , and Kathryn Marie (Joe) and Tamara. They spent those 22 years as a family traveling the world as a military unit of their own, Brenda born in California, Steven and Jeffery being born in England, Keven and Kathryn born in Utah. There are also 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

After retirement, Raymond began his quest for education in earnest, graduating in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree from Dixie College. He spent a good portion of his retirement writing (he published 3 books) and as a home builder and re-modeler. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, 8 brothers and sisters, a daughter (Brenda Lee) and a grandchild (Mary Lou).

He is survived by 1 brother (Harold), 3 sisters (Jean, Carma, and Joanna), 5 children, (Keven, Steven, Jeffery, Kathryn, and Tamara). A viewing will be held at the Garden Park Ward located at 451 E Midvalley Rd on November 19, 2018 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Followed by funeral services at 1:00 PM.
