West Brookfield – Raymond H. Charron, 84, of West Brookfield died on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He leaves three daughters, Maureen E. Roberts of West Brookfield, Melannie C. Waugh and her husband Michael of West Brookfield, and Beth Dustin and her husband Thomas of Lincoln, NE; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, Peter Charron and Bernard Charron, and two sisters, Marion Handzel and Judy Iott.

He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Mary E. (Morris) Charron in 2009, as well as five other siblings. He was born in North Brookfield, the third of ten children, son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Barnes) Charron, and has lived in West Brookfield for over 50 years. Mr. Charron was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Following his Navy service, Ray worked as a Maintenance Technician at the Ludlow Paper / Kanzaki Specialty Paper Company in Ware for 31 years before retiring in 1998. Ray had a big heart and was selfless when it came to helping others – especially his daughters. He was a former member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus church in West Brookfield.

At his request, funeral services will be held privately. Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield is assisting his family with arrangements.
