Raymond Paul Bishop Pinconning, Michigan Raymond age 88 loving father, grandfather and brother passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on November 8, 1929 in Esville, Michigan to the late Felix & Theresa (Duford) Bishop. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He married the love of his life Elizabeth Westenfeld on January 22, 1955 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She predeceased him… Read More » on May 14, 2014. Raymond was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Local 652 and the American Legion Post 239.

He retired from General Motors in 1998 after 20 years of being a welder. His passion was farming, he farmed the majority of his life beginning his own farm in 1955 till present. He will always be remembered for his love of building things such as a wind generator he built and operated since 1983.

He enjoyed carving, fishing, hunting, gardening and farming but most of all spending time with his family. He is survived by his children; Larry (fiancé Janelle Martin) Bishop, Cindy (Michael Fryzel) Bishop and Ava Bishop, grandchildren William “Bill” (Jennifer) Bishop, Jessica Armstrong, Martin (Diana) Bishop, Steven (Shari) Bishop, Meredith Bishop, Jennifer (Allen) Krevinghaus and Jeffrey (Nicole Konwinski) Fryzel, 15 great grandchildren and a sister Priscilla Bristow. He was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.

Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11 am from St. Mary’s Catholic Church nine mile with burial in St. Mary’s Mt. Calvary Cemetery with military funeral honors. Friends may call at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Friday, from 2 to 8 pm.

On Friday, a Rosary will be held at 3 pm and a Prayer Vigil at 7 pm. On Saturday, Raymond will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of service.
