Raymond W. “Bill” Vrooman, 86, of Gilbertsville, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2018 at Chase Memorial Nursing Home in New Berlin. Bill was born on September 5, 1932 to the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Pagel) Vrooman. Bill was united in marriage to the former Rosemarie Montebello.

For most of his life, Bill was employed by IBM as an engineer and upon retirement in 1987 he found residence in Gilbertsville. Bill was a caring and devoted family man who also enjoyed traveling throughout… Read More » the United States. He was especially fond of Maine and Rhode Island.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie; niece, Kimberlee Wright; nephew, Greg (Leisha) Spaulding; grand- nieces Tara Finger and Nicole Spaulding; grand- nephews, Shaun Spaulding, Matthew Spaulding and Christopher Wright. Friends and family are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 10AM – 12 Noon at the Johnston Funeral Home, 60 Broad Street, Morris. A funeral will begin at 12 Noon at the funeral home with Maureen Joy, officiating.

Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Gilbertsville. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Gilbertsville Rod & Gun Club: Rod & Gun Club Rd, South New Berlin, NY 13843. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris.
