Raynan (Roberts) Jeter of Ozark, MO was born on March 8, 1946, in Houston, Texas. She died on February 11, 2019, in Springfield, Missouri. Raynan was a beloved wife, devoted mother, and caring friend.

Her family was her greatest joy and her legacy is seen in the family members who survive her: Doug Jeter, faithful husband of fifty years and longtime missionary in France ; daughter Lori and husband Chris, with children Seth and Sophie, who work among the people of Northern Asia; daughter Nathalie Jeter who is currently studying at Oxford University; daughter Nanette Koepp, and husband Aaron, with children Sonora, Sahara, and Savana, who work as missionaries in France. Also survived by her mother Rene, her brother John, her sister Suzanne, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, brother and sisters-in-law, and cousins. Raynan was born and raised in South Houston and met Doug Jeter in 1964, while attending Southwestern Assemblies of God Bible College (SAGU) in Waxahachie, TX.

She also attended the University of Houston, where she completed her degree in Elementary Education. In 1968, she married Doug and they moved to Pasadena, Texas, where Doug served as associate pastor at Faith Assembly of God and Raynan taught at Pearl Hall Elementary. In May 1974, Doug and Raynan were approved for missionary service with Assemblies of God World Missions and they moved to France one month later.

Their twenty-five years of ministering in France had a profound effect both on the local church, on university outreach, in the French Bible school, and in strategic ministry throughout the country. Raynan later earned her M.A. in biblical literature from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Her highest calling, however, was that of wife, mother, and homemaker; she devoted her life to raising her family and making people welcome in her home.

Raynan exemplified Christ-like kindness, always empathetic, supportive, and a listening ear for everyone she encountered. She loved Jesus with all her heart. Raynan loved well, and was well loved.

Her death leaves a huge gap in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. Visitation and funeral service will be held on February 15, 2019, in the Clark Chapel at James River Church 6100 N 19th St, Ozark, MO 65721. Memorial contributions may be directed to Raynan’s Christian Higher Education Research Fund.
