Rebecca Frances Meeks, 85, formerly of Collins, passed away peacefully March 2, 2019, surrounded by her family. Frances was born on December 5, 1933, in Lacota, Florida, to the late John Claude Counts and Laura Agnes McDonald Counts. Frances lived in Marion County, Florida most of her life, then moved to Collins Georgia with Alfred after both retiring.

Frances worked for Sprint Telephone as a service representative for many years. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfred J. Meeks. Surviving are her sons, Alan (Susan) and Jay (Judy); daughters, Darlene Clark (Danny), Geneva Kurtz (Mike) and Marcia Cameron (Junior); sisters, Agnes Monroe and Geraldine Mullins.

She cherished her ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, all who called her “Granny”. The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, Saturday, March 9, 2019 at New Life Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 1 o’clock until the funeral hour at the church on Saturday.

Interment will be in Anderson Church Cemetery. Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
