Regina Schiffer Rehberg, 93, wife of the late William J. Rehberg of Oil City, died Friday May 24, 2019 at the Willows Senior Care in Oakmont, PA. , after a short illness. Born in Oil City, PA.

, she was the daughter of Philip A. Schiffer and Josephine R. Ochalek Schiffer. Regina attended Oakland Twp. Schools and graduated from Oil City High School in 1943.

Father Louis Kelly married her to William J. Rehberg on Dec. 28, 1953 at St. Stephen’s Church and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1999. Mrs. Rehberg was the co-owner of Schiffer’s Restaurant and Hotel on Elm St. in Oil City with her brother Ferdinand Schiffer from November of 1955 until August of 1975 when they were forced to close due to a city redevelopment project.

Mrs Rehberg then applied her culinary skills and love for cooking at Venango Catholic High School as food manager, retiring in 1982. Regina’s passions included entertaining and cooking for friends and family, traveling with her husband, children and grandchildren. She volunteered at St. Stephen School library, Venango Catholic High School cafeteria, and at the Oil City Hospital Hospitality Shoppe.

Regina was a member of St. Stephen’s Church and a former member of the Rosary Society. She is survived by two children Gina Leigh & her husband Dr. Joseph Zagerman of Pottstown, PA. Philip John & his wife Nancy Rehberg of Lower Burrell, PA.

Two grandchildren Eric J. Rehberg & his wife Kristen of Tarentum Renee E. Greenwald & her husband Nolan of Upper Burrell, PA. And her great grandchild Lincoln Michael Greenwald as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins. Mrs. Rehberg was preceded in death by an infant daughter Laurie Jo Rehberg a brother Ferdinand P. Schiffer, and by two sisters Mrs. Wayne(Clara) Seely and Mrs. Joseph(Phyllis) Dziekciasz.

Friends will be received from 3:00-8:00P.M. Tuesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in St. Stephen’s Church with Fr. John Miller, Pastor, Presidng.

Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery.
