MATERAZZO Rena C. of WEST ROXBURY, formerly of Jamaica Plain, Dec 24th died peacefully at the age of 90. Daughter of the late Joseph F. & Josephine N. (Spera) Belfiore. Loving wife of Thomas B. Materazzo.

Devoted mother of Janice & husband Anthony Cataldo of Saugus, Thomas Materazo of Jamaica Plain and Steven & wife Maurya Materazzo of Jamaica Plain. Grandmother of Christopher Cataldo and Johanna & Natalia Materazzo. Sister of Janet Allen of W. Roxbury, Florence Couturier of W.Roxbury and Josephine Poznick of Deerfield Beach, FLA.

Rena was born June 16, 1928 in Boston. She worked at Jay’s Women’s Clothing Store & Bonwit Teller as a sales clerk before finishing her career with a 20 year stint at Prudential Insurance Company. She married Tom in 1951 and recently celebrated 67 years of marriage.

Rena is remembered as a loving wife and mother, devoted grandmother and a gentle woman of faith and kindness. Funeral from Mann & Rodgers Funeral Home, 44 Perkins St. Jamaica Plain on Saturday at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10 o’clock. Visiting Hours are Friday from 3-7pm.

Relatives & friends invited. Interment St Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute at Dana-Farber.org.

The family would also like to thank the caregivers and hospital staff for their efforts and care.
