She was born December 1, 1941 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late John Edwin and Retha (Edwards) Hurley. She was a member of Highland Grove United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.

Retha was a Consumer Loan Accounting Clerk at the former Western Pennsylvania National Bank which later became Equibank. She was also a paraprofessional with the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, James E. Griffiths, daughters, Beth Ann (Andrew) Griffiths-Richmond of Monroeville and Sue Ann Griffiths of North Versailles, grandchildren, James, Collin and Bryn Richmond, brother, Tom Hurley of McKeesport, sister-in-law, Janet Griffiths of Duquesne and nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4-8:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director. Service will be held in the Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow in the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Township. The family wishes to thank the wonderful people at Dr. Mehta’s and Dr. Bahre’s office and Jesse Starr and Lois of Hillman Cancer Center, Monroeville and the staff of UPMC East.
