Rev. Leslie M. Skeens January 10, 1934 – March 04, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Dublin – Rev. Leslie Melville Skeens, age 85, died Monday, March 4, 2019, in Shamrock Nursing and Rehab Center in Dublin.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. at Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church in Chester. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev.

Skeens, was born in Leet, West Virgina. He was the son of the late Rev. Harmon Herbert “H.H.” and Effie Stratton Skeens and was preceded in death by his brothers Rev.

Carl Skeens, Rev. Kenneth Skeens and Rev. Stanley Skeens and his sisters Amber Skeens, Opal Atkins, Irma Holstein, Beulah Jarrell and Marett Schultz.

He earned a Bachelor’s of Education degree from Berea College in 1958 and a Master’s of Theology degree later in life. He was a former preacher, teacher, coal miner and probation officer; he had also worked in human res and for the railroad. He spent most of his life in West Virginia and had lived in Delaware and New Mexico before settling down in Georgia in 1989.

He was Baptist. Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Barbara Hunt Skeens of Dublin; his children, Melissa (Keith) Jump of Dublin and Tim Skeens of Eastman; sister, Naoma Sitton of Madison, WV; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church 5025 Chester Hwy, Chester, GA 31012.

The family will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until time for the service Wednesday at the church.
