OBITUARY Reverendo Padre Jorge A. Garcia February 25, 1945 – December 19, 2018 Father Jorge A. Garcia died on December 19th at the age of 73. He arrived in Miami in 1962 through the Pedro Pan program for unaccompanied Cuban children. That same year he started his studies for the priesthood with the Piarist Fathers in Buffalo, N.Y. In 2012, Father Garcia retired as pastor of St. Hugh Catholic Church after having served for nearly 40 years in various capacities in the Archdiocese of Miami, including as rector of the college seminary and administrator or pastor of several churches.

The vigil for Father Garcia will take place on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, located at 900 SW 26th Road, Miami, FL 33129, followed by Mass at 11:30 am.
