Rexford “Rex” R. Bentley November 05, 1946 – February 24, 2019 Send Flowers Sign Guestbook Rexford “Rex” R. Bentley, age 72, of Pioneer, Ohio, went home to heaven to be with his Lord Jesus at 7:55 P.M. on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Rex worked at Challenge-Cook for 18 years, was the custodian at Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan for many years and worked at Throne Monument in Pioneer as a monument designer, stone mason, engraver and also set the monuments in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. Rexford R. Bentley was born on November 5, 1946, in Adrian, Michigan, the son of Robert S. and Hilda M. (Hatt) Bentley.

He attended Morenci High School. On July 6, 1968, Rex married Susan K. Bates, and she survives. Rex is also survived by his daughter, Sherri Lynn Bentley and son, Timothy Craig Bentley, both of Pioneer; two grandsons, Kodi Robert Bentley, of Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Adam Jay Bentley, a sophomore at North Central High School; brothers, Carson (Sherry) Bentley, of Edgerton and Curtis (Karen) Bentley, of Fayette and sisters, Bervolee Kerr of Camden, Michigan and Faye (Allen) Kerr, of Alvordton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Verl and Bernard Bentley and sisters, Linda Furr and Robin Bentley. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. A memorial service celebrating Rex’s life will follow at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Janet Strickland officiating.
